Overview

Brand identity and UI design for MediaCo’s new online streaming network. Their aim is to inspire a nation through investing in grassroots talent, reflect cultural diversity, champion alternative points of view, and nurture new and existing talent.

They are “Bringing diversity to the mainstream”.

A NEW IDENTITY
Kicking off the ideation phase with a word association map allowed me to come up with a new unique name for the streaming service.

My goal was to come up with a name that mirrored their value in reflecting diversity and being inclusive of all walks of life – something that was short, memorable and quippy and could hold up competitively in a saturated streaming service market.

a combining form meaning “all,”
WIREFRAMES
With this in mind, I made sure to consider the user's journey and flow down the page by arranging sections in a way that made sense to them and by also prioritising important information first. Relevant call to actions were also placed in appropriate areas.

The goal of the landing page is to highlight the uniqueness of Omni as a brand and to showcase the service's exclusive content titles and features and to also encourage users to sign up.
IDENTITY / UI DESIGN
A variable typeface was used to embody the diversity of the platform.

A vibrant purple was selected as the primary brand colour as it is a colour that can be own-able in the current competitive space. Pairing this with a semi transparent gradient as a brand element makes it instantly identifiable.

Usages of the letterform "o" in the omni word mark is also a branding element that can be used to allude to it's inclusivity of all people and to evoke a sense of community.
